I was given by my sister the bike I had purchased for her in 1977, a Raleigh Mountie, same basic design as I had learned to ride in 1964 and I am sure predates that, it has a slack head angle and generous rake. She did not like the styling, and got as a gift a new 20" wheeled bike, steeper head angle and visually less rake, much more nervous overall. I have here riding the older bike, after much explaining that it would be easier to learn on, she is riding.
