Racking My Brain

Here's a couple of things to think about. Any and all thoughts on front racks are needed and welcome.

    well ok, that's an extremely elegant little job. Can Vincent not build you one? Seems like, if it were me, I'd prefer to keep it local since that's what you've been doing so far . . .

    Vincent made the top one. Mitch Prior at MAP did the bottom photo. Discussions with Vincent are ongoing.

    First of all what are you trying to achieve? Are you carrying a 6 pack of Hams to the house or is this for a 3 mos trip across the U.S. with the "Z" man?

    I have a moderately sized Giles Berthoud bag which may contain a jacket and lunch -possibly a bottle of wine. I will not be carrying a 6-pack of Hamm's, although a couple of days ago I had one quart of milk, one loaf of bread and one dozen chocolate raspberry cookies (necessitating the top flap to be hooked over the stem).

    Wade at Vulture can make you a slick titanium rack. Of course he can also make one up in CroMo as well. Mention my name, we go way back.

    Thanks. It's hard to make a really tight fitting rack without having the bike at hand and I have already committed to Vincent Dominguez, rather he has committed to making it.

    Vincent won Best Fillet Brazed at NAHBS. He has a background in jewelry making. He is as good as there is. And fun.
