Progress

Last evening America sat down to watch the President share his vision and solutions for America's health care problems. Political philosophy aside, I found myself filled with pride for my country and it's wise young leader. Recently hard times and a changing American have brought the radicals out of their dank caves and slimy swamps, out from under the rocks where they hid. We had an election where the majority of us decided we wanted to be led by a progressive, intelligent, educated young man who just happened to be black. When I look at the Red/Blue map of the U.S. indicating presidential satisfaction it becomes apparent that the country is still divided into North and South. There are groups of people who are still fighting the Civil War and the fact that our president is black seems to be sticking in their craw. I fear for his life, but in my lifetime we've come such a long way on our journey and I think sometimes we just need to be reminded of that.

Good sentiments. You've brought me out of the funk I've been in since seeing the cracker from SC perform in the House last night. I think it comes from being constantly exposed to the lynch-mob-right-wing rantings of the local newspaper and the human condition and intellect west of the River. I should be fine until tomorrow.

What a disgraceful comment.

This the kind of garbage that poisons the national dialogue today. It's the same kind of filth that comes from right wing nuts who call liberals communists.

SHAME.

Anony,
What part of the comment do you object to, the reference to the "cracker from SC" or "the lynch-mob-right-wing rantings"?

I guess I didn't care for the gentleman from SC calling the President a liar either, and you cannot imagine what is published in Mr.Margadant's local paper. It would make most people puke.

Next time I would appreciate a name, but thank you for expressing your opinion anyway.

Gunnar,

remember that we took back some major prizes for the left last election, esp. VA and my home state, NC. SC may be next, if the GOP keeps handing us such potent ammunition. The lines are continually being redrawn, and pretty soon the GOP may voluntarily cede the entire lower 48.

The photo of the lynching is most disturbing in that the whites are obviously not the least bit bothered by the event. Just another day, could well be at a church picnic. We've come a long way Gunnar, we still have a lot further to go. Excllent post.
