Republican gubernatorial candidate Dan Maes is warning voters that Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper's policies, particularly his efforts to boost bike riding, are "converting Denver into a United Nations community."
"This is all very well-disguised, but it will be exposed," Maes told about 50 supporters who showed up at a campaign rally last week in Centennial.
Maes said in a later interview that he once thought the mayor's efforts to promote cycling and other environmental initiatives were harmless and well-meaning. Now he realizes "that's exactly the attitude they want you to have."
"This is bigger than it looks like on the surface, and it could threaten our personal freedoms," Maes said. continued

I hate it when a big Republican sneaks up and tries to expose me.

I'm conflicted. I am a tea party member that really loves bikes and cycling but hates the UN (there worthless and corrupt). Also Maes' name is Flemish so he should really love bike and the Pave. There are even bike parts with that name. I got an idea keep the Politics out of cycling. I'll go ride now.
it's ok, echelon, I usually expose myself to Democrats without asking. Haven't you heard about our secret handshake?

MW: Nothing secret about me. When it come to talking about politics I am usually the Nuclear Bomb in the room. When a discussion gets going amongst the gang my wife usually leaves the room.
The follow you tube would discribe me.

I love this guy.
Still cycling and Politics are to me like seperation of church and state.
More proof that we've become a second-tier nation.
Neil I promise I won't step on this land mine. Margadant the Floor is all yours.
You guys want to set up a caucus?
Be careful picking on Margadant. He was a trial lawyer, which means he can (and will) defend positions he disagrees with.
Bicycles über alles!
