Another Shooting Brake

At first blush I thought this was a Jaguar, but I don't think so. I do know no one is going to strap surf boards on it - maybe a set of matched Purdey side-by-sides and a wicker of lunch sandwiches and small pastries.

Austin Healey woodie from the 40's?

Don't think so on the A-H. Even when they had the narrow grille it was wider at the top and the fog lights were never integrated into the body. I think.

I stand corrected. It is a 1948 Austin, although not an Austin-Healey, as it is before the merger with Donald Healey. Whatever, a very cool car.

Or is it a Healey?

I was going to guess an Alvis. Whatever marque she's lovely!

The British really know how to bird hunt don't they?

Oy! Got here too late to post my thoughts..but an Austin would have been my second guess. My obscure Brit car tidbit; My very eccentric and, (at the time) wealthy aunt Matille had a 1937 Armstrong-Siddeley that she used to tool around Richmond, Va. in, the car usually being driven by whatever ne'er-do-well boyfriend she was hooked up with at the time. She was a wild, wonderful woman to my 8 year-old self....a real eye-opener. Think; "Travels With My Aunt", meets the Rolling Stones.

Best,

Rick M.

PS- The Kvale is a thing o' beauty!

The frontal section matches the one of certain Healey sportscars. Not Austin-Healey, just Healey.
