Urban Pedal

On the Blood and Ivory Kvale - White Industries pedals, MKS "deep" toe clips, Velo Orange leather covers.

To Tony,
See photo below of Lyotard Marcel Berthet M23 pedals. So, my choice was, spend mega bucks for the original, or merely big bucks for a knockoff which was probably better. I opted for the merely big.

Elegent minimalist pedal, somewhat reminiscent of the Cinelli M-71 pedal. The leather on the clips looks good.

I love the Urban pedals. I also love what you did to the toe clips.

It's interesting that you came to the same conclusion as I did: big bucks for the vintage item vs. not-quite as big bucks for something that takes the best features of the original and improves on the rest.

I'm liking the price on Justine's MKS urban pedals better than the Whites. But I know where you could get a pair of French threaded Lyotard M23's cheap...

The MKSs look pretty good.

The Kvale is the only bicycle
I own that was not second hand. While I am certainly not a wealthy man, at this point in my life I can afford pretty much any pedal I desire, and these seem to fit the overall feel of the bike.

Gunnar: Your kind of getting a little bit esoteric on your part aren't you?
