Eufala Skipper? - Thin white line slightly visible on inside wing of left bug. Anyway, we are certain they are little brown Grass Skippers of some kind (maybe two species even?) - the insect world's answer to LBJs.

You know, I was just about to post that I'm pretty sure the left one is a Eufala. And I believe the right one IS a different species. The antennae are too long and mostly orange along the stem. Also, the white around the eye is a key marker for the Eufala.

Yeah, could be a Julia's...

Not really being a bug guy, I never thought life would deteriorate into discussing the I.D. of little brown obscure butterflies. ;-) As John Yocum has told me more than once, "You know more than you think you do." But he says that to everyone.

Hahaha. John says that to everyone... Well, that sort of undermines the compliment. But then again you probably do know more than you think you do. And now that I think on it, I suppose everybody does....

I never considered myself a bug guy either, and if it weren't for the camera, I'd not be interested. But the camera has changed the experience for me because I like the challenge of trying to get a good photo so I can study it later on. And I like the fact that these tiny flitting creatures are actually sporting some amazing colors and patterns that you can only see from close up.
