One of my favorites. I still love the Jerry Jeff version best, though.I heard this song a lot when I was a boy. We have grown to suit each other.
I also like the Waylon Jennings's version. Always good to hear the songwriter's version of any song though. Even if they aren't always great singers.
It's the nice fiddle and the steel guitar on the JJW that really speaks to me of hot Texas nights and cold LoneStars. Stuff of my dreams.
