Great read! It was a real race! The Gila kicked their butts. Wonder if Matthew Lee is going to reconsider the reroute using of the CDT. The Adventure Cycling GDMBR takes riders from NM 35 to NM 15 then into Silver City and has the CDT from NM 35 as the alternate. Matthew decided that since NM has so much pavement already, to use the single track, to the recommendation of local riders (including me). Makes for a very tough day getting off the North Star road and onto the CDT.
