The Sora is a 9" tall rail that makes it's living deep in the cattails. You can often hear their descending whistled whinny in the marshes, but very rarely actually see them.This one snuck out near the edge of open water to take a splash bath in the sunshine and I was fortunate to see him tucked back in the reeds. As my brother-in-law Kurt said, "80% of life is showing up - with a camera".
