Atheists Just Sing the Blues

I discovered some year ago that I was an atheist. I denied it for a long time but finally I could deny it no more. However, I love the music of my childhood which is the music in the Broadman Hymnal. My favorite is county acappela gospel. It gives me comfort although I don't believe a word of it.
Is there anything that Steve Martin can't do?

Sing?

My friend everyone can sing. When you ask a very young child "can you sing" the answer is almost always yes. "Can you dance" almost always the answer is yes. When they say no they are as good as adults. Well I can sing, I can dance, I can play the Ukulele, guitar, harmonica and piano but not any of it as good as others. Steve Martin can sing can you?

I like your choice of music. The thing about being a heathen is we can have all the music. Those believers can't.

I get your point.

Actually I can sing quite well ...but seldom do. I can't dance for shit. We even took ballroom dancing, then advanced ballroom dancing. No hope, but at least now I understand better what I can't do.

Gunnar:

How can an atheist have the blues. they don't even have guilt.

Gunnar Berg said...

It has been my observation that morals and guilt have little or no relationship to religion. I got da blues.

Did I say morals? I meant morels.

BTW Oldfool is dead ring for Ben Davidson (Oakland Raiders).

I do not know which would be riskier, calling the Oldfool Ben Davidson or calling Ben Davidson an old fool. We may find out.

Davidson? doesn't he make bicycle frames?
