This Car Brakes For Birds and Beer

For those of you who feel I have pretty much wasted all of my time birding, I submit ... The Leftovers. After my experience last year I brought my own beer. Each one of these bottles represents a sixpack. Alamo does not recycle. Anything. There were more varieties of bottles that went in the trash before we discovered that Edinburg has a recycling center. I was getting dangerously near the end when, just in the nick of time, we discovered Feldman's Liquor in Weslaco. I did not accomplish all of this by myself. I had a little help from Lorna and a lot of help, on a daily basis, from Paul Prappas. Thanks Paul, I could not have done this without you.

Were the three on the right thrown away unopened?

Yeah, they were swill!

Actually on the way to the refrigerator, yet unsampled. The fancy gold foil one is a brown ale for Lorna. Rather pointless if there is an IPA to be had in my opinion.

I like it, Stone IPA is our local suds here in the hood. Good brew.

I find myself surprised, my pick of the lot is the IPA, third from the end, by the Real Ale Brewing Company of Blanco, Texas. Kudos to the Texans.

You're very welcome Gunnar. I was glad to help.

And a little comment on listing. Listers are people that simply wish to add birds to their list. However, for many birders the challenge and excitement of tracking down a new bird is a big part of the fun. And to connect with a Red-flanked Bluetail that has found its way to Vancouver, BC, when it should be in the Himalayas, is the stuff of bird legend.
In addition, both Carolee and I keep detailed notes of our sightings and by doing so, we contribute to citizen science and help solidify the memories of those encounters.
