Sunday in Santa Ana

We saw a lot of shorebirds: Stilts, Stilt Sandpipers, Pectoral Sandpipers and Dowitchers. Also a variety of ducks. Unfortunately, most were beyond my camera optics.

Above is a White-faced Ibis, though in winter plumage there is no white visible, just brown with an iridescent green back.

Photo of Green Parakeets (Aratinga holochlora), taken this evening from our deck.

Those damn parakeets are noisy! What the hell do they talk about all the live long day? They've got those in Gulfport, Florida where I'll be racing soon. I think most of those in FLA are escaped birds (or birds let loose after the owner gets tired of all the squawking!)

These are native to Mexico. And they squawk in Spanish.
