Growlery - Wainscoting

"best lichens"

A couple days ago I removed an old weathered (and falling apart) fence leaving me with a pile of boards. Yesterday I cut'em up and nailed them to the wall, trying to use the ones with the best lichens on them. No, I cannot define "best lichens", but I know what they look like. This morning I ripped some pieces for the top cap. Then I drank more coffee.

Installment: Beer, coffee, lamp and 1410

Switch plate.  I really should replace the actual
switches - ivory, brown, ivory. Anal?

You need a Murphy bed in there for afternoon siestas.

It was a hard decision - cot or workbench. I decided I could nap in the chair.

I like the weather beaten wood. I think I would recognize the finest lichen upon sight also.

Damn Gunnar, the growlery is looking real nice. The lichen was a great idea. You should have been an interior designer.

Also, it's nice to know that J.R. Watkin's Co. of Winona is still going strong after 144 years.

The wainscoting makes the room...well, that and the Kvale. Lovely switchplate too.

Best,

@Tom, I am not stubborn. I am right. If I was wrong, I would change my mind.

Yo...! I know a place you can get push button light switches with abalone detail. would really get your retro look finished off.

Gunnar Berg said...

??? Honestly, I never thought of it as retro. I thought that it was just a bunch of comfortable old stuff. But you are absolutely right, it probably is retro. Whatever that is.

lemme know.

'Gars. Nothing special. Any medium strength Maduro will do, usually torpedoes - something like an Onyx Reserve.

It's not retro when it's small glimpses into a mind that has always been that way. It's not retro, throw back or vintage, it's just how it is. It could be no other way.

Thanks Jon, for the insightful and totally actuate definition. The stuff ain't old, it's just strongly connected to my past.

The lichen accents on the wainscoting is very classy.
