Free At Last

The Blind Boys of Alabama formed their group as children at the Alabama Institute for the Negro Blind. For the Negro Blind? For Christ's sake would their presence have offended the White Blind? If they were all blind I suppose they wouldn't know who to hate.                 Some change is for the better.

One of my all time favourites.
You and your folks/Psalm 23(Higher Ground) and Jesus Gonna be here (Spirit of the Century)
For an avowed non-Christian that says something I guess? ;)
Video links not showing down here on the Southern tip of the "Dark" continent?

I was not blind as a child but the Baptist Church certainly used a blindfold on us kids. At fifteen I removed the blindfold and walked into the light. I never looked back. It took another 10 to 15 years to unlearn the lies but without the blindfold the lies were so transparent they became invisible.
They would have you believe you can tell by the smell but having been aboard ship in the Navy I can tell you that you cannot.
I learned the true meaning of "I was blind but now I see".

I lived a block away from the New York State School for the blind. Thankfully, they accepted blind people of all races, creeds, and colors. They only discriminated against those of us who mistakenly insist they can see.
