None For the Shepherd

I stumbled on this sorting through the Blaze Foley tubes, mostly amateur covers. This is by Carlene Jones with harmony by the Duct Tape Messiah himself. Probably a little rarefied for most tastes, but I like it a lot.

Thanks for posting this video! This was shot by Hank Sinatra in Houston, Texas in 1988. Carlene Jones was a close friend of Blaze's and he loved this song of hers. Maybe because he was homeless himself and maybe because his grandfather was an itinerant Pentecostal preacher. Seems like all of Blaze's friends loved harmonizing with him. Thanks again.

Insightful indeed. Thanks. How'd you happen to find this so fast?

Blaze Foley is raw and unpolished soul music.

Are there anymore songs by Carlene Jones? Someone that writes like that must have penned some other great songs....

Leah,
As far as I know Carlene hasn't written anything else. But then again virtually nobody knew about Blaze until after he died too.

Thanks for reading. I appreciate it.

Great song. Does anyone have the lyrics/chords? Really soulful sound. Tx.
