A Blaze of Glory

Kind of a downer. A while ago I wrote about the late alcoholic, homeless songwriter, Blaze Foley. Here's covers of a couple of his songs.

and then look at you, with the home, the wife AND the booze. So do you think that life is really fair?

Life ain't fair. Period. I was born at the right time, in the right place with the right DNA. It's nothing I earned or deserve. But I'm going to live it as long as I can anyway.

I have the wrong DNA but just barely enough sense (sometimes) to stay out of trouble. Here's hoping this continues, but don't count on it :-)

Merle does a nice job here. Blaze just writes such SAD songs. Not depressed or complaining, just heartbreakingly SAD.

Yeah, he wrote about his life, which was pretty hard. He was living in a treehouse and dumpsters when he wrote these two. Hard to be too upbeat.
