Lee's Summer 2010

The Dakota Badlands, from Lee, Margadant's No.2 son: Weathered rock, horn and bone. Why do they call them "Badlands", when the colors are so subtly wonderful?

Addendum: Jim has entered the Facebook Age!, the 20th Century, possibly even the 21st, and has more pictures posted here. More nice shots from Lee.

Curious . . . I hear about it at the supper table; you get the picture. Lee's other summer trophy was finding an elk shed in the north unit of Theodore Roosevelt National Park that, although broken, still was almost as tall as Alexis, the 5' something young lady in the veg crew, and about as thick as Lee's forearm. He's covered many long, hot miles for the NPS Northern Plains Research & Monitoring Unit this summer. They're working on finishing the Badlands now, and he rates it as the toughest territory they've encountered to date.

And so -- do I have to "friend" him, or something?

Jim,
You have to request that he becomes your friend. He has to okay it.

And welcome to you too, Gabriel.
