When I was kid struggling to teach myself guitar, I used to try to play along to his records alone there in my room...on my cheap Epiphone 12-string. Figuring out his array of open tunings took me several years..he and Joni Mitchell made extensive use of alternate tunings to get their unique sounds. Kottke is still in that small pantheon of Guitar Gods, (think; Richard Thompson, Tony Rice, John Fahey, and Guy van Duser, to name a few) whose altars I worship at. Thanks for the clips.
