Phil Wood & Co: "Build it strong. Keep it simple. Make it last."
I have four bicycles with Phil bottom brackets and one with Phil hubs, arguably the best hubs and bottom brackets made.
Phil Wood died from cancer last Sunday.

I am very sorry to hear that. Anyone who has ever used a Phil product has had a small glimpse of what everything might have been.
Sad news! I was just looking at his website the other day thinking of a BB for the Merlin. I am also a big fan of Phil's Tenacious Oil. Planning on using it on the Tour Divide this summer. A little goes a long way!
I did a turn on the McLean today. It's the first really dry street riding since last fall. Phil BB and hubs. They worked just fine. As always and forever.
hi neil ..the only phil wood product i own is his signature grease ..that being said it keeps my various bb's rolling and hopefully seatposts and stems from freezing ... ican only wish phil the best as he has departed the proverbial "vale of tears" and would like to think of him as "rolling on"

This is very sad news. When I built up my dream bike last year, I treated myself to my first ever Phil BB and Hubs. They are the best.
The man has past but the design and engineering live on... God speed Phil Wood.
