The first Floyd Tillman I remember was in 1949 and it was Slippin' Around". It was big in Arkansas when I was 10 years old. There is no time That I can't conjure up a memory of that song. Floyd hung out at the honky tonk where the band I hung out with played and sat in with practically everybody. He could really get into his songs and actually shed real tears. At that time us punks thought it was hokey. Little did we know we were witnessing genius. Alcohol involved? It was a honky tonk in Texas called the Golden Horseshoe what do you think? Floyd fell out of favor in the states so he move on to Europe and Great Britain. The Germans and the British loved him.
