This is a repost of an earlier posting for Tommy G. (who just made me gasp in disbelief!)
Sam Phillips's tribute song, Sister Rosetta Goes Before Us.

Your posting of the incomparable Sister Rosetta made me think of these guys: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YVQuZJkHZL0 Do you know Claude Jeter and the Swan Silvertones? Jeter's falsetto puts Frankie Valli to shame. The harmonies are out of this world, and their timing is impeccable. The gospel origins of doo wop, I guess.
