A slow Sunday morning. I walked down to the Mexican Bakery and picked up breakfast. We sat around drinking coffee and finally in late morning we went down to the Santa Ana wildlife refuge. It was a free admittance weekend and the locals were out in full force. Most are not birders, but it was wonderful to see so many people talking and laughing, just enjoying nature and sunshine. Birds tend to disappear in midday and sunshine. We didn't see anything special, but it was great to be out in such sweet weather.
