Shorebirds that is.
This morning we saw a number of Long-billed Dowitchers, Sandpipers, and both Greater and Lesser Yellowlegs. The Greater Yellowlegs is not greater, it is merely a little bit larger. The Lesser is a much cooler bird - a "greater" bird?
I would strongly recommend John Janovy's book, Yellowlegs, which is a novel - like an historical novel, only it's a nature novel, or a science novel? I have a couple of copies, one which is signed. Some people would love to have a signed copy of a famous novel. Me? I have a signed copy of Yellowlegs. Yeah.
