Turning the Music Page

My daughter took piano lessons 20 years ago. Lorna "needed" the music/library room. It will probably continue to have a wall of books but the Baldwin Acrosonic piano had to go. Pianos are hard to move - literal and figurative. Some listing were actually free+$100. , but we discovered as soon as you put "Baldwin" in the description, people show up. We had a number of people interested.

We chose to let it go to a family who had a young lady who "was in book seven!" playing a keyboard and it was time time for a real piano. Lorna and I had managed to move it from the music room to the front entry where it lived for four days until they could pick it up. It went slick. We opened up the door and windows and everyone masked up. "Dad" had moved pianos in the past and came equipped with a dolly, straps and planks to build a ramp. Talking we discovered Lorna had taught her older sisters.

Why am I posting this now?  Addy plays the piano and Nicole majored in concert piano in college. They would love to have the piano, but currently they live 100 miles away in a second floor apartment, saving money for a someday house. It was bittersweet, but sometimes you just have to let things go. It was time.
